McHale V660: Breaking all Boundaries

by Power Farming |  Monday, 15 February 2010 McHale V660: Breaking all Boundaries

Power Farming is proud to announce the release of the all new McHale V660 variable chamber round baler. The V660 breaks all boundaries with its core features, simple design and truly outstanding performance. The McHale design and development team have spent four years thoroughly testing and refining the baler, coincidently making it one of the strongest and highest performing units on the market. The V660 is capable of producing a bale between 0.7 – 1.68 metres in diameter with a soft or hard core depending on individual requirements.

Weighing in at 4000kg the V660 is built to handle the toughest of conditions and the heaviest of crops. The main gearbox has a split drive design providing even distribution of load. The left hand side of the gearbox drives the belts and rollers in the bale chamber whilst the right hand side drives the pick-up and chopper unit. This provides short transfer paths and optimal power distribution. Power conservation is maximized by having the second bale chamber drive roller engaging when there is 3% slip to aid in belt and material rotation.

The 2.0m wide galvanised pickup and net system is standard across the entire McHale range providing parts compatibility and familiarity amongst McHale operators. The net system is remarkably simple to thread and provides the operator a clear view of the net rolling on in the wrapping process. The double tines on the rotor ensures high output whilst the spiral formation prevents load peaks whilst operating in heavy swaths. This combined with the hydraulically protected 15 knife chopping unit provides maximum chop quality.

The V660 range is fitted with a drop floor unblocking system as standard. This unblocking system makes reversing kits obsolete and saves valuable time. Greasing of bearings and oiling of chains is completed by an oil reservoir and two centrally located grease banks. This minimizes maintenance requirements and extends the life-span of the machine.

The operator has full control of the baler from the simple and well specked ‘Expert Plus Control Console’. The monitor can control the bale size, bale density, core density, revolutions of net being applied, Knife function and drop floor operation. Therefore the operator theoretically need only leave the tractor cabin to change the roll of net.

With sleek new paneling and outstanding performance, the V660 is a stylish unit that is set to turn heads and break all boundaries in New Zealand.
