Hi, we are fairly new to milking our house cow on a double plant, we clean it throughly everytime with proper cleaner, but we can't get rid of a pink type of fungi may-be? off the inside of the test bucket & its also on the white teats of one of our calfaterias, can anyone help with knowing what it is & how to get rid of it? I have even tried janola in the water to clean the teats but that hasn't worked!!
Protein is a component of the milk that builds up over time when milk is left sitting. Scrub with hot water, 85 degrees and use sodium hypochlorite, 30 seconds contains this. Normal dairy farming practise is a hot wash with an alkaline cleaner three times per week. Contact time for the detergent is important. Minimum contact of 5 minutes ideally but water must remain above 60 degrees or it will redeposit. Also add some elbow grease and a scrubbing brush to remove the build up and regular cleaning will stop it coming back. J
we clean with this detergent every 2nd nite, we have tried elbow grease lol, the milk is never left in the test bucket & we even clean the calfaterias after each use, we will try really hot/boiling water next time to see if that helps & may-be soak for a while with the detergent,as we normally only rinse this thru the machine & bucket, thank-you for your reply.
