  I live in the Auckland district and have a small flock. When is the best time to shear and when should I shear new lambs?

  Hi Jen, I would imagine the next time to shear them would be after winter, probably sep/oct...but i'm not an expert.

  We live in Southland, but out lambs are shorn around Feb/March. Really as you don't have any extreme temperatures such as we do - anytime would really be suitable.

  I used be Farmer out at Lake Rotoma & We used have our Sheep shorn October &March. Lambs were shorn In December..Hope that will help you.
