I am interested in learning more about digital photography. I am on a budget so can't afford a huge amount for a formal course. Does anyone know of a nightschool course or good online course that's cheap or free?
A lot of schools and colleges do evening courses around this time of year and they are not that expensive - ask at your local schools if they have any on
canno have the best cameras
We have the start of a phoography section right here in the special interest area. We have professional photographers contributing to this section and hope to get more soon, they will include hints and tips on everything from the basics throught to the sort of things advanced photographers need to know. Tell us what you would like to start with and we can tailor the articles to your needs. Jeff@RuralTrader
Wellington Photographic Supplies runa course on how to use your Camera if you purchase a New Camera. Could be of interest if you live near Wellington.
Hi there Baleguy. We have temporarily removed the photography section from Rural Trader. We hope to have the section back up and running in around a month. Keep checking back for interesting news and articles! RT
Check out if you area has a camera club. Check in the clubs and organisations in the phone book. I hope you have found the camera you wanted. I have 3 digital SLR cameras which I use. My first one I bought with a 3 years interest free deal at Noel Lemming. I think I paid $30 a month and didn't even feel it in my pocket. But I must admit the next 2 I bought out right. It can be a very addictive hobby. If you have joined classes at your closest high school or joined a camera club they usually have beginners classes. I have always said the best way to learn about taking good photos is to look at photos taken by others be they be in the news paper ,magazines or photography books in the library. Then just go and practice practice practice. The more photos you take the better you get at taking them. Which area do you live in? Good luck. I have also joined online photography groups and joined there forums and asked lots of questions. Some of the good sites are http://www.thedigitalsite.co.uk They have monthly competitions and there are a couple of us Kiwis on the site. www.webshots.com you can download some software there and get free images each day for the screen saver on your computer for inspiration. www.betterphoto.com great place to also enter competitions and learn how others do coll images in camera or in image programs on your computer. They also do classes but they cost. www.deviantart.com. good place to sing up and get free space to upload your images to be critiqued(commented on by other people). That's a good way to learn and you can be anonymous there. Hope some of this was of use to you. Joce.
I have to say that if you are on a budget then take a look at Fuji Finepix cameras. I have an S5700 and have found out that it beat ALL competition on every level for price, quality and fetures. Ive been highly impressed by this camera AND all the reports about it. Now looking to upgrade to a few models up. 7.1 megapixel with 10X optical zoom. The pics are stunning. I got this new at $375. 2 years ago. But I know you can find them on trademe for anything over $200. Yes the other brands are good but you will pay through the nose too for the same features etc. Worth a look. (according to cambel live reviews about 18 months ago) Good luck.
