  We are trying to make a descision we feel we have out grown our house. We need more space and are wondering should we extend or try and move up the property ladder????

  Property prices are dropping and I think they are going to come down even more, so now may be a good time to upgrade your house. In saying that, if you have a good bit of land extending may be a better option. The drop in property prices will affect you as well and you may not get as much for your house as you had hoped!

  ...generally the NZ house market has tracked the US, lagging six months behind. If you follow that trend house prices are set for a downward trend this year. In saying that on a positive note interest rates are coming down so it's becoming more affordable to upsize.

  Hi if you decide to sell make sure you buy in the same market some people hold off and rent and then find they cant rebuy in there area of choice as prices have moved up, i dont think that is to much of a problem at the moment but you never realy know!! good luck and buy well.
