Last season was a challenge, the big dry of 08. This season has not been without it's challenges either, slow cold start and now a green drought, bad Facial eczema and falling payout. My Manager is still on track to do good production though, how about the rest of you?
Hi pcfarmer, we got 40mm of rain the other day which has definately helped. We have been feeding PKE and had undersowed quite a few paddocks which were looking a bit dry. They have shot up now with that bit of moisture, just have to keep the bloomin parries off, looking forward to bagging a few of them if they hang around, not long till first weekend of May. I have had more FE this season than ever before. I have heard that PKE may prevent uptake of zinc. It would be good to get some science behind this to see if it's true or not. I think PKE is ok for plugging gaps but don't want to rely too heavily on it, especially if it causes the FE problem. If anyone knows about this please let us know.
