Rural Trader understands the importance of collecting your personal information and protecting it. This privacy policy outlines what information we collect, how we store it and how it is used.

As part of operating Rural Trader we may collect certain information about our users, such as;

  1. Personally identifiable information – This is provided by you when you register for Rural Trader and its services. Examples of these services could include email newsletters or events. Providing this information will always be optional for you. However, some services may not be available to you if you choice not to provide it.
  2. Aggregated data – This information is generated by our systems as they track traffic through our sites. This information does not identify you personally and is not linked to the personally identifiable information that you may have provided.

 

Who we are allowed to share this information with

We will never share the information we collect with third parties, with the exception of the following circumstances:

  1. The aggregated data may be shared with third parties such as advertisers or business partners. This will never include any personal information.

We have collected and stored your information in order to provide a quality service to you while using Rural Trader. We may use this information for the following reasons:

  1. To verify your identity if you need help with a forgotten password or if you are having log-in problems.

  4. To offer the most relevant information suitable to you and your interests.
  5. If you are a successful bidder to forward your email address to the seller, and visa versa.
  6. For any marketing, promotional, publicity or market research that we might undertake.

Important information on promotions, competitions and other marketing activities for members

All entries become the property of Rural Trader (and any third parties conducting joint promotions with Rural Trader) and are held for up to 4 months after the prize draw date. After this, they are then destroyed in a secure manner.

Cookies

A cookie is a small file that resides on your computer and is recognised by our server when you visit our site. A cookie those provide us with any personally identifiable information. It does provide details of your IP address, the computer platform that you use (e.g. Windows or Mac), the browser that you use (e.g. Microsoft Explorer or Safari) and what domain you are accessing our sites from. With this information we can do the following:

  2. Ensure the most relevant content is being shown
